Name: Pierre Vanhove

Current position: Faculty

Affiliation: Institut de Physique Theorique - CEA/Saclay

Field of research: Theoretical particle physics

What is your career trajectory to date?

I did my undergraduate studies at the Ecole normale Supérieure in Paris, France. After completing my Phd thesis at the Centre de Physique Théorique, Ecole polytechnique, France, I went for a post-doctoral position at DAMTP, Cambridge University (UK). Then became a permanent researcher at Institut de Physique Théorique, CEA-Saclay (France). I have been an associate researcher at Institut des Hautes Etudes Scientifiques, Bures-sur-Yvette, France.

What are the most exciting open questions in your research area?

Understanding the gravitational force in various regimes from the infrared to the ultraviolet.

What role do you think a community network like EuCAPT can play in developing theoretical astroparticle physics and cosmology in Europe?

New measurements give a lot of new information about cosmology and astrophysics, and more puzzles are arising about the dynamics of our Universe. By bringing together physicists working on many aspects of the cosmology of our Universe, the EuCAPT network, will foster new ideas and lines of research.
